Heathrow’s Virgin Atlantic Pilots to Strike over Pay
In a vote to strike, 97% of Virgin Atlantic’s Pilots voted for the strike action, which is over their level of pay which pilots say has not risen since 2008.
Already having been offered a 4% pay rise in 2011 followed by 3% in 2012, pilots rejected this, and while they have voted to strike no date has been set and their hope is that the airline will offer them more before they have to take action.
In the 2009 to 2010 financial year, the airline made a £125.2 million loss.
